These Terms govern your use of the Bible Paddy app and its services. By using Bible Paddy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Bible Paddy, or meet any higher minimum age required where you live. If you are under the age of legal adulthood, a parent or guardian must consent to your use of the service and any paid purchases where required by law or the app store.
2. Your Account
Some features require an account. Provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and contact us if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
You are responsible for your use of the service and for content you submit or share. We may restrict or suspend accounts used in violation of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
3. Free Access and Paid Subscriptions
Bible Paddy offers free features and optional Silver and Gold subscriptions, with monthly and yearly billing where available.
Paid plans provide access to the features and usage allowances described on the subscription screen. These may include Church Notes, notes from YouTube sermons, sermon-based Bible studies, personal study plans, and Paddy Bible Chat. Not every feature is exclusive to a paid plan. Subscription charges are for Bible Paddy's app features and services, not for purchasing or unlocking NLT or MSG Bible text. This distinction does not remove any commercial licensing requirements that apply to the app's use of API.Bible.
Before purchasing, review the selected plan’s price, billing period, included features, usage limits, and any trial offer. Prices may vary by country, currency, taxes, and app store. The amount and billing terms shown in the store’s purchase confirmation apply to your purchase. Where a yearly price is also shown as a monthly equivalent, you are purchasing a yearly subscription and paying the yearly amount shown.
Subscription allowances may reset daily, monthly, or on another period stated in the app. Yearly billing does not make a monthly allowance unlimited. Unless an offer expressly states otherwise, unused allowances do not carry over. Technical and abuse-prevention safeguards may apply to protect the service.
If we materially change a paid plan’s price, features, or allowances, we will provide notice where required by law or store rules. Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have relating to a purchase already made.
4. Payments, Renewal, and Free Trials
Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are processed by that store and are subject to its payment terms. Payment is charged to the store account used for the purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel through the store before its cancellation deadline. For Apple subscriptions, cancel at least 24 hours before the current subscription or trial ends to avoid the next charge. Review the purchase confirmation for the applicable renewal price and timing.
Free trials and introductory offers are available only when displayed and when you meet the store’s eligibility requirements. A trial normally converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the applicable deadline. The offer shows the trial duration, subsequent price, and billing period.
Store rules govern renewal charges, price-change notices, and any required consent. If a payment fails or a purchase is refunded or revoked, paid access may end or change according to the store’s subscription status.
5. Cancellation, Plan Changes, and Restoring Purchases
Manage or cancel your subscription in the store account that purchased it:
- Apple: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and select Bible Paddy.
- Google Play: open Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and select Bible Paddy.
Cancelling normally stops future renewal while allowing paid access until the end of the current paid period. Trial access may end earlier under the store’s rules. Uninstalling Bible Paddy or deleting your Bible Paddy account does not automatically cancel a store subscription.
If renewal is off and you want to continue, use the store’s subscription settings to resume renewal or resubscribe where available. Restore Purchases checks existing purchases and helps recover eligible access; it does not itself restart a cancelled subscription or turn renewal back on.
You may switch between available plans and billing periods. The effective date, charge, credit, or refund depends on the store and purchase confirmation. On Apple, upgrading from Silver to Gold takes effect immediately after a successful purchase; downgrading takes effect at the next renewal. Switching between monthly and yearly billing within the same tier takes effect at the next renewal. Google Play changes follow the replacement terms shown for the transaction. Review the confirmation before accepting a change.
Refund requests are handled under the purchasing store’s refund policies and applicable consumer law. Cancellation does not automatically result in a refund. These Terms do not exclude any refund or other remedy required by law.
6. Church Notes, Recordings, and YouTube Content
Church Notes can process supported recordings, audio uploads, and YouTube sermon links to produce notes and related study material. Recording length, file size, supported formats, and generation allowances may vary by plan and are shown in the app where applicable.
You must have the rights and permissions needed to record, upload, process, or share a service or sermon. Follow local recording laws and obtain any required consent from speakers, participants, churches, or rights holders. Do not upload private conversations or other people’s sensitive information without appropriate permission.
A publicly accessible YouTube video is not automatically free of copyright restrictions. Submit and use third-party content only as permitted by its rights holder, applicable law, and the platform’s terms.
Generated notes and studies may omit details, misidentify words, or interpret the message incorrectly. Review them against the original message before relying on or sharing them. Processing times and results depend on factors such as recording quality and service availability. Keep your own copies of recordings and material you need to retain.
7. Paddy Bible Chat and AI-Assisted Studies
Scripture Sources and AI Restrictions
We use only the King James Version (KJV) as the Scripture source supplied to our AI-assisted features. We obtain this KJV text from our separate local source, not through API.Bible. KJV is public domain in many countries, but territorial rights and restrictions may still apply.
We use API.Bible to provide the New Living Translation (NLT) and The Message (MSG) for Bible reading and display, subject to the applicable licences. We do not supply NLT or MSG text obtained through API.Bible to AI models for prompts, context, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, training, fine-tuning, summarisation, paraphrasing, translation, or other AI processing. We do not use AI to rewrite or modify verses supplied through API.Bible.
We present AI-generated explanations, reflections, prayers, and study material as separate commentary, not as original Bible verses or authorised revisions of a Bible translation. We preserve the source translation and its required attribution when displaying Scripture.
These restrictions concern licensed Scripture text. Bible Paddy still processes recordings, user questions, account information, and other data needed to provide its services, as described in the Privacy Policy. Recordings and user submissions may contain third-party material; permission to process that material must be established separately, and these Terms do not authorise AI processing of copyrighted translations merely because a user submits them.
Paddy Bible Chat, generated notes, reflections, and study plans use artificial intelligence. Responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or contain incorrect Scripture references. They are tools for study and reflection, not authoritative biblical interpretation or a substitute for pastoral guidance.
Check important claims and quotations against the Bible and appropriate sources. AI output is not professional medical, legal, financial, or mental-health advice.
Usage allowances and reasonable safeguards help maintain service availability and prevent misuse. Do not use Bible texts or other licensed content obtained through Bible Paddy to train, fine-tune, or ground other AI models without permission from the relevant rights holders.
8. Acceptable Use
Use Bible Paddy lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse others, or share unlawful or infringing content.
- Attempt to bypass subscription checks, usage limits, security controls, or another user’s account protections.
- Scrape or systematically extract protected content, interfere with the service, or distribute malicious software.
- Copy, sell, or commercially exploit the app or licensed material without appropriate permission.
- Reverse-engineer protected software except where applicable law permits it.
We may remove violating content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, rights holders, or the service.
9. Your Content and Sharing
You retain any rights you hold in the recordings, notes, messages, and other content you submit. You grant Bible Paddy a non-exclusive licence to host, process, reproduce, and display that content as needed to provide the features you request, such as transcription, note generation, study creation, storage, and sharing.
This licence does not transfer ownership of your content to us or grant rights you do not hold. It does not by itself authorise unrelated AI-model training. Our Privacy Policy explains how submitted content is handled by us and our service providers.
When you share content with another user or group, recipients may retain copies. You are responsible for deciding what to share and for ensuring you have the necessary permissions.
10. Intellectual Property and Bible Copyrights
Bible Paddy’s software, design, logos, and branding belong to their respective rights holders. Subject to these Terms and applicable store rules, you may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. For the iOS app, the licence is governed by Apple’s standard EULA, linked below.
Bible texts and other third-party material remain subject to their rights holders’ licences. Access through Bible Paddy does not transfer ownership or grant unrestricted reuse rights. Follow the attribution and usage conditions for each translation.

11. Privacy and Notifications
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle account information, submitted content, technical information, and service-provider processing.
NLT and MSG Bible content is provided through API.Bible; KJV is served from Bible Paddy's separate local source. Retrieving, displaying, and caching licensed translations, and required usage reporting, remain subject to API.Bible's terms and the translation licences. Usage reporting, including through its Fair Use Management System (FUMS), may be used to comply with licensing requirements. See the Privacy Policy for the applicable data practices.
If you enable notifications, you may receive study reminders, Verse of the Day messages, processing updates, and service announcements according to your settings. You can manage notifications in the app or your device’s settings. Delivery is not guaranteed.
12. Availability, Disclaimers, and Liability
We aim to provide a reliable service, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free AI output, or permanent storage of all content. Features may depend on third-party services and an internet connection.
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties to the extent legally permitted and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable liability for fraud, personal injury, or mandatory consumer protections. Paid users retain rights to remedies required by law if a paid service is not supplied as agreed.
13. Updates, Governing Law, and Apple’s EULA
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We will update the date above and provide notice of material changes where required. Where consent is required, we will obtain it before applying the change. If you do not agree to an update, you may stop using the service and manage any subscription through your store account.
These service Terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria, subject to mandatory protections and rights that apply where you live.
For the iOS app, Apple’s standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies. These service Terms supplement that EULA and do not replace it or override mandatory store terms or applicable law.
