Effective Date: October 4, 2026
Bible Paddy ("we," "us," or "our") provides Bible reading, study tools, community features and Church Notes. This Privacy Policy explains the information we handle when you use our app and website, including optional subscriptions and AI-assisted features.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: Your name, email address, login credentials, profile details and timezone, together with information you provide when contacting support.
- Study and conversation information: Your chat messages and conversation history, study preferences, selected Bible versions, reading progress, highlights, saved notes and study plans.
- Church Notes information: Audio you choose to record or upload, service details, personal notes, selected verses, YouTube links and search requests, and the notes and study material generated from these inputs. Audio can include the voices and personal information of other people. A recording may remain on your device before you send it for processing.
- Community and sharing information: Group membership, group messages and content you choose to share with other users or through a share link.
- Subscription information: Account and purchase identifiers, purchased products, subscription tier, trial and renewal status, expiry dates and usage allowances. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google Play; we do not receive your full payment-card details through these app-store purchases.
- Device and service information: Device and operating-system information supplied by the app, notification registration tokens, notification preferences and technical request or error logs used to operate and troubleshoot the service.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide your account, Bible reading tools, saved conversations, study progress, groups and Church Notes.
- Process recordings and selected YouTube sermons to generate notes, reflections and study material, and respond to your AI-assisted study requests.
- Verify purchases, restore subscription access, maintain entitlements and apply plan usage limits.
- Personalize study tools, send reminders and service notifications, respond to support requests, and protect the service against misuse.
Using these features involves processing information. Our restriction on using licensed Bible translations for AI does not mean that we do not process account information, recordings or user requests. Our AI-assisted Scripture source is KJV; we do not send NLT or The Message text supplied through API.Bible to AI models.
3. AI Processing and Providers
We use third-party AI services, including OpenAI for study and chat features and Google Gemini for Church Notes. Depending on the feature, we send the relevant request, conversation context, recording, temporary transcript, sermon link or generated notes needed to produce the response.
Gemini processing may use a paid service or unpaid quota. Under Google's unpaid-service terms, submitted content and generated responses can be used to improve Google products and machine-learning technologies, and human reviewers may review that content. Paid-service terms provide different protections, including that prompts and responses are not used for product improvement. Provider handling also depends on applicable regional terms. A Bible Paddy subscription does not itself determine which provider tier processes a request.
Do not submit sensitive, confidential or personal information to an unpaid Gemini service. A public church service can still contain personal information. Only record and upload material you are authorized to share for this processing, including any required permission from speakers and other people recorded.
More information: Google Gemini API terms and OpenAI privacy policy.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared as needed for the following purposes:
- Service providers: AI providers process the inputs described above. Hosting and database providers support storage and service operation, and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers push notifications.
- Subscriptions: Apple, Google Play and RevenueCat handle purchases and subscription verification. We associate a RevenueCat customer identifier with your Bible Paddy account so that subscription access can be restored and kept up to date.
- Your sharing choices: Other group members can see messages and content you share with them. Anyone with an active note share link may be able to access the shared content. Recipients may retain copies even after you remove a share.
- Legal and security needs: We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to address fraud, protect people or defend our legal rights.
Service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. Their own applicable terms, privacy policies and retention practices also govern information they handle.
5. Storage, Retention and Deletion
We store account information, conversations, study progress and saved notes to provide your account and library. Church Notes processing uses temporary audio files and transcripts. Our processing workflow attempts to remove uploaded audio after processing finishes or permanently fails, and requests deletion of files uploaded to Gemini. Temporary transcripts are used during generation rather than saved as a transcript in our sermon database. Generated notes and sermon metadata are stored separately.
Removing a note from your library is not a promise that every related record is immediately erased from every system. Shared sermon catalog entries, technical logs, purchase records and information retained by providers may have a different lifecycle from your personal library. Contact us to request deletion or ask about retained information. We do not promise immediate deletion from third-party systems or copies already held by recipients.
6. Data Security
We use technical safeguards, including encrypted connections, to help protect information in transit and restrict access to service data. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Account and data requests: You can request account deletion through the app or contact us to request access, correction or deletion of your personal information. Available rights depend on applicable law. Account deletion does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription; manage cancellation with Apple or Google Play.
- Notifications and microphone: You can manage notifications and microphone access in your device settings. You can use reading features without sending a recording for AI processing.
- Sharing: Choose carefully what you post in groups or share through links. Where available, revoke a note share link to stop future access through that link.
- AI features: You can choose not to submit a recording, sermon link or chat request to an AI-assisted feature.
8. Children's Privacy
Bible Paddy is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover we have collected such data, we will delete it immediately.
Separate provider restrictions apply to AI services. Google's Gemini API terms prohibit use in applications directed toward or likely to be accessed by people under 18. Parental permission or a paid subscription does not override that provider restriction.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our features and data practices change. We publish the revised policy here and update its effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before applying a change.
